The Chapter’s mission is to improve the health and quality of life of all people living with inherited bleeding disorders and, ultimately, to find a cure.
The beginning of the Nova Scotia Chapter of the Canadian Hemophilia Society was said to originate as a journey in learning about the strength of working together as a group to accomplish great things. Our founding members believed that those who suffered with the same problems and concerns related to their bleeding disorders were able to bond and grow through their collective experiences.
To educate and raise awareness within the public and medical community.
To be pro-active in ensuring the best care for those with inherited bleeding disorders.
To increase and maintain a strong membership base.
We are a working board that hosts community events and fundraisers, providing advocacy for members and helping individuals who require financial support to attend clinic appointments and the like. We work with the bleeding disorder community to enhance the quality of lives of those affected.
